Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know its time to try therapy?

Many people seek therapy when things have become unmanageable in their lives at home, school and/or at work. However, you don't need to wait until things get to that point. Therapy is about having an unbiased third party help present what you're going through in different terms and giving you tools to think and behave differently.

What should I expect from my first session?

At Level Wellness, LLC we understand that the mere thought of going to therapy can be scary, confusing, and somewhat intimidating. We understand these concerns fully and will make every effort to explain the process of therapy and answer any questions you might have. During your first session, your therapist will review your intake paperwork, discuss informed consent, limits to confidentiality, payment options, general information about therapy and the therapist and of course, answer any questions that you have.

PLEASE NOTE- If you are booking your initial appointment online, please select the "Initial Intake Session" option found in the Book Online section of the website.

You can choose to fill out your intake paperwork at home using the Forms Tab or you can fill out the forms once you get to the office.       (Please arrive about 15 minutes early).

How long do I need to be in therapy?

Ahhh yes!! The million dollar question!! Truthfully, its hard to give an exact number of weeks/sessions. (Nor would I try to) The fact is that everyone comes to therapy with their own set of unique struggles and concerns, some familiar with therapy and some new to the process, some willing to get to work and some that need more guidance. Some people stay in therapy for a few weeks and some stay in for years. The purpose of collaborative treatment is for the therapist and client to work together to identify how long therapy is needed and continues to be beneficial.

How is the agenda for therapy determined?

At the second or third session, your therapist will discuss your diagnosis and collaborate with you to determine your goals for therapy. This document is called a treatment plan and offers direction for therapy sessions. It is a requirement of all insurance companies.
